Ahhhhhh! Can I just scream out how much I love Morgan and Shelby?! They are from Orange County and were looking for a Las Vegas engagement photographer. They had a cool concept to do their photos out here since Shelby actually proposed to Morgan here in Vegas, at a beautiful 30th birthday party that he threw for her with their closest friends. We had an absolute blast together at their engagement session together! We hit up some cool vintage Vegas locations, like The Neon Museum and Fremont Street.
With all of the correspondence I had with Morgan for the engagement session, they decided they wanted to have me come out to Orange County (the Laguna Hills area) to photograph their wedding as well! I am sooooooo happy they did! Their wedding was so amazing, the details were incredible, and I felt as though I were in Photographer Heaven! Oh, and the weather out there is a nice 20 degrees cooler, so that helps a lot too!! 🙂 If you’re from Vegas, you already know what I’m talking about, LOL.
So, I decided to do two separate postings of their wedding, since there just happens to be tons of great stuff that I can’t make up my mind on what to post! This posting will cover the first half of the day (bride getting ready, bridal party shots, ceremony and newlywed romantic shots.)
Morgan and Shelby’s ceremony definitely goes down in my book of top wedding ceremonies of ALL TIME. It had the right amount of humor, heart-tugging emotional moments, seriousness, education, and a great deal of warmth and sunshine (in a metaphorical type of sense). The officiant, Pastor Todd, did a wonderful job, and I heard he had a few secret admirers following the ceremony as well! LOL. Sorry ladies, he’s taken – married for 24 years with 3 kids. 🙂
I’d like to extend a BIG thank you to all of the guests and family of Morgan and Shelby as well – they were all such easy-going people! Extremely warm-hearted people!
Let me also give a HUGE shout out to the event coordinator at the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club, where the couple’s lovely wedding took place. I don’t think I’ve met a nicer, more hospitable coordinator. Allison was sweet, down to earth, and went out of her way to make sure that not only the guests were well taken care of, but that me and all of the participating vendors were given extra special care. She brought me out cold water, gave me a tour of the property, and was always checking in with me to make sure I had everything I needed. WOW! I couldn’t have asked for a better coordinator than her. She made me feel so welcome and cherished. 🙂 So, Allison, if you are reading this, my hat goes off to you – you are amazing, my dear!!
Morgan’s reaction when she first saw the reception room was absolutely killer. The smile on her face wrapped around her face probably about three times! 🙂Here is the lovely Miss Allison, who is the event coordinator extraordinaire at the Arroyo Trabuco.

Um, so, Morgan and I… we have this thing. We just can’t get enough of one another. She’s a designer from Orange Country, California, and claims she stalks my work! LOL. I adore writing to Morgan, as she shares so much of her personal life with me, from her adorable dog, Belmont, to all of the tiniest details of her wedding day.
Shelby planned the perfect proposal here in Las Vegas! As part of Morgan’s 30th birthday celebration, he schemed up a clever plan to turn it into a proposal and engagement party as well! Morgan was completely shocked, as she explained to me that Shelby is more of a quiet and conservative type when it comes to matters like that! Morgan is the one who typically plans everything, as detail-oriented as she is – so it was a very pleasant surprise indeed for Shelby to pull of this secret!
Morgan thought the perfect place to have their engagement photos taken would be in Vegas! She started searching for Las Vegas photographers with a vintage flair, and lo and behold, lil’ ole me popped up. 😉
We had such a great time communicating back and forth regarding the engagement session, that Morgan began inquiring about having me come out to California for the wedding as well! I was thrilled, and am totally psyched that I get to capture both of these fun events for them!! (I know it’s a stretch, but hopefully baby pics in the future… hehehe).
Granted, I’m usually a little slow to make postings on my blog, but Morgan lit a fire under my butt this morning when she sent me this beautiful thank-you e-mail:
Last night was sooooo amazing 🙂 We had an amazing time with you all and could not have felt more comfortable and relaxed! It really was a lot of fun!!!
I am so excited to see the pics and I am really really excited about the future wedding pics 🙂 They are going to be amazing!
We are so glad we chose you Suzi 🙂 We just couldn’t stop taking about how darn cute you are!!!
Thank you again! Have a wonderful day!
Isn’t it totally amazing to wake up to an email like that in your inbox? I <3 you Morgan!!
So, for a little intro into the photos themselves, these were taken at The Neon Museum (aka The Neon Boneyard) here in Las Vegas. Morgan knew it would be the perfect location. I suggested that after we finish up there, that we should pop on over to Fremont Street for a few more photos, as it’s just down the road. What a great time we had together!
Thanks Morgan and Shelby for having the confidence in me to capture these very important and special moments in your lives! Much love to you both, and I am looking forward to the wedding! Here’s a sneak peek just for you!
So, my phone rang one day, and I heard such a cheery, bright voice on the other end of the line. It was Emmajoy calling from lovely Australia. She was very excited to tell me about her destination wedding in Las Vegas and was eager to find out if I had her date open. She said that her fiance and her had been looking at photographers and no one quite caught their eye like I did, and as soon as her very picky rockabilly fiance saw my work, he said, “She’s the one! Let’s hire her!” 😀
Once I confirmed I had her date open, she said, “Okay, great – I’d like to book you right now!!”
That was a-okay by me! So, I emailed her over a booking proposal and she locked in her date!
Fast forward five and a half months later, we first met at The Hardrock Hotel for some preparatory shots of both “the girls” and “the guys.” After everyone was properly primped and suited up, I rode along with the girls in a pink Cadillac that they hired by The Vegas Elvis himself. I totally LOVE this guy – he is amazing! His caddy, on the other hand, well, that is a different story! It actually broke down on the way to The Little Church of the West. So, if you think about hiring Elvis, make sure he’s got his car fixed!! To check out a fun little movie we actually filmed with Elvis, click here.
Before the car broke down on the Las Vegas Strip, we were jammin’ – it was a lot of fun cruising with the top down! Luckily though, after the car broke down, an ambulance pulled up right behind us and two very nice EMTs offered for us to jump in the back of the ambulance, and they drove us the rest of the way to the chapel! Totally cool, right? It was such a great experience – and the bride remained totally happy the whole way!
Following the ceremony, we headed over to the Las Vegas sign in a large party bus, equipped with a dancing pole, to get some group portraits and a few romantics of the newlyweds.
By this time, tummies were beginning to growl, and the party bus took us all to the Hard Rock Cafe. We snagged a few more portraits around the outside and inside of the cafe and then headed upstairs for some serious grubbin’ and fantastic speeches!
Truly a great time! Thanks so much Emmajoy and Kris for allowing me to tag along and capture some great memories with you!
Visiting all the way from Broome Australia, I have the pleasure of presenting the new Mr. and Mrs. Patterson, Greg and Cara. Making this their third trip out to Las Vegas, Greg and Cara wanted to do something special, something memorable. So after 7 years of dating they decided it was time to put a ring on it and get married by none other than the king of rock, Elvis!!
Greg and Cara’s ceremony was held at the iconic Las Vegas Neon Museum, personally one of my favorite spots for photo shoots. Not in what we would consider traditional wedding attire, their outfits and even their unique choice of wedding rings, all let their wonderful personalities really shine though. Cara’s wedding ring was an especially gorgeous triangle cut blue lapis lazuli that looked amazing on her. Accompanied by close friends from their home town of London, the ceremony was full of fun and laughs. Greg and Cara’s friends even brought a boom box equipped with the sound of a cheering crowd for the moment Elvis pronounced them officially married.
Once the ceremony concluded, I took Greg and Cara around the museum capturing these two newlyweds love and joy for each other. Using a Polaroid camera their friends had brought along, they snapped a few instant memories of their own which I thought was so adorable. As the sun set, and the lights came on, the electric signs came alive giving off colored lights that highlighted Greg’s suite and reflected beautifully off of Cara’s dress.
Thank you Greg and Cara for sharing your wedding day with me. I had a wonderful time with you and wish you best in your future!
I am delighted to present the new Mr. and Mrs. Fetaz!
Max and Julie were first referred to me by a past client, Jenifer! I just LOVE when clients are so happy that they refer me to their friends – its such a wonderful feeling!
We had a great time hanging out during their engagement session at Red Rock Canyon. The weather was perfect, and I could tell how utterly in love these two were with one another!!
On the wedding day, I met up with Julie at Green Valley Ranch, and the first thing I noticed entering her suite was how happy and excited her bridal party was for her. I could tell immediately that she was surrounded by loving, caring people and that the ceremony would be emotional and full of joy. Julie’s dress was looked absolutely gorgeous on her! The bodice of her dress was finely detailed in an intricate lace floral pattern with the skirt made of layered satin. Complementing her dress, Julie wore a cathedral veil and gorgeous diamond earrings. Now ready for her wedding day, I finished up taking pictures of Julie and rushed out to courtyard where her soon to be husband, Max, who was eagerly awaiting their first look. I could tell he was nervous and very emotional, which was just ridiculously cute! I loved Max’s grey suit. I must saw he looked quite dapper, oh, and he had a pretty awesome looking boutonniere to boot as well!
Max finally got to see his bride in a very touching first-look moment, as Julie anxiously walked down the grand staircase toward him. After settling from seeing each other in their wedding attire, I took Max and Julie around the Green Valley Ranch’s vineyard which makes for a very natural and serine location for taking photos. Before we knew it, their personal shuttle was out front and ready to take the couple and their party to the wedding location. I would have loved to have more time snapping pics at Green Valley, as I always wish to have more time when behind the lens, but nevertheless, we still go amazing photos in the time we had! Changing venues to the groom’s parents’ house, the backyard was completely transformed into a jaw-drop gorgeous ceremony location, full of white garden chairs for the tons of friends and guests wanting to watch the couple take their vows. Everything was decorated with muted white and purple roses, highlighted with purples, sage, and a multitude of lighter shades of green. Once the ceremony started, it was very apparent Max and Julie are popular people! The ceremony even got to the point it was standing room only. When the touching ceremony was over, and family members all had their turn posing for pictures with the newlyweds, we left for the reception venue.
Julie and Max had their reception at one of Las Vegas’ premiere Italian restaurants Piero’s. Piero’s has been featured in “The Vegas Standard” as well as “The Dish” and our groom’s father just so happens to be the head chef. The entire bar side of the restaurant was rented out just to hold all of Max and Julie’s guests who were treated to a fabulous 5 course meal. With touching toasts to the new couple and lots of laughter, everyone celebrated by dancing the night away.
Max and Julie, thank you for letting me share in the union of your new family, and I can’t wait to see a baby bump!! 😉

Congratulations to Lindsey and James!!! Our neighbors to the north decided a fast paced, exciting wedding was more their style, so they packed up their getting married clothes and left Canada behind to get hitched here in Vegas. I met up with Lindsey at her suite in the Mirage where she was excitedly getting ready for her big day. Lindsey definitely came prepared; her gorgeous wedding dress was equipped with crystal sequins, a ton of ruffles and even a 5 foot train! Highlighting her wedding dress was an absolutely beautiful pair of bright pink high heels and all the bright sparkling jewelry she could wear. Once Lindsey was dressed and ready, they headed off to the Wynn where the ceremony was set to take place. I would have a ton of pictures from the actual ceremony, but the Wynn provides their own exclusive photographers for wedding packages, so I just met up with them again following the ceremony to take them on a strip tour!
After the ceremony we hung around the Wynn and took advantage of the décor to get some shots of the newlyweds with their parents and then it was out to the street. Our first stop was to head to the Cosmopolitan for some just married candid shots. The elegant crystal strands and creative lighting of the Cosmopolitan were a perfect highlight to James’ bright pink vest and Lindsey’s already sparkling dress. We then stopped by one of my favorite spots in front of the Planet Hollywood, where James and Lindsey seemed to be the center of attention to everyone passing by wishing them luck with their new marriage.
Time was short and being late to the reception party with the bride and groom was not an option, so after some quick poses in front of the Paris’ Eifel Tower we left the strip. James and Lindsey had their reception at Maggiano’s, a classy and wonderful Italian restaurant located at the Fashion Show mall. Arriving right on time to Maggiano’s we were met by Lindsey and James’ families where everyone took a turn getting a picture with the new bride and groom. Touching toasts, great food, and a lot of dancing was had by all. I am thrilled James and Lindsey chose Vegas as the location of their wedding and am ecstatic they chose me to capture their memories. I wish you both the best of luck in your marriage and know you’re surrounded by loving family and friends. Warmest regards from the states.
